Types of Home Internet

In today's world there are multiple kinds of internet that you can get at home.

Fiber Internet

Fiber refers to fiber optic internet, and often provides the fastest and most reliable internet. There are multiple companies in the state of Oregon that provide fiber internet, including: Quantum, Emerald Broadband, and Hunter Fiber. There may be more of course.

The key is knowing what is in your budget, and potentially allowable by your land-lord if you are a renter.

Mobile Hotspot Internet

If you already have a cell phone, your provider may be able to give you hotspot internet for a low cost. This type of internet is fine for browsing the web on a laptop or tablet, but not ideal for streaming content, and is often limited to around 15-30gbs per month.

Cable and Other Providers

If your dwelling has a modern cable hookup, you can also try Xfinity from Comcast, just be aware of their cost models that do change over time.
